Courses
We offer the British Gymnastics Teachers Award Course as well as bespoke gymnastics courses for Teachers and trainee teachers.
Our director, Catherine has had a love for teaching since childhood. She qualified as a teacher, graduating from Goldsmiths Univerity in 1998 as a BA Ed (hons) with PE for 3-8 year olds.
During her teaching career, Catherine taught from the Foundation stage through to Key Stage 5. Since her transition away from full-time education, Catherine has developed her career as a tutor and lecturer, both for gymnastics-specific training and also for wider coach education encompassing safeguarding and inclusion.
Catherine is a British Gymnastics Teachers Award Tutor; UK Coaching Tutor and has over 35 years of experience in gymnastics.
Her gymnastics experience coupled with her extensive knowledge of teaching in educational settings allows her to offer comprehensive, practical advice suitable for a wide range of professionals.

Gymnastics in schools
The education element of Catleaps is vital to our success. Catherine has a great understanding of the practicalities of teaching gymnastics in the modern curriculum to children of all ages and abilities.
Individual teachers, sports coaches, PE departments, Whole Schools, Universities and Local Authorities come to us so we can assist them with their gymnastics training needs. This may be for one teacher or a whole authority.
Packages are customised to suit your needs and can range from a two-hour ‘refresher’ inset to a full two-day British Gymnastics accredited Teachers Award.

British Gymnastics Teachers Award Courses

With 10 years of teaching experience, Catherine is able to offer courses with a full understanding of the challenges that Teachers, Coaches and Trainee Teachers face.
She inspires confidence in learners, leaving them with confidence to deliver gymnastics in schools, and to develop strategies to provide a strong lesson with varying ranges of equipment and pupil abilities.
British Gymnastics Teacher Award courses are for Teachers and teaching assistants who hold a QTS or formal qualification, but also for individuals working towards these qualifications.
The courses are practical based, for ten/twelve hours. Learners will receive a course-specific resource pack from British Gymnastics.
The Teachers' Introductory Gymnastics Course
Develop the skills to support participants in fun skills such as rolls, leaps and the use of apparatus. With a focus on class management, warm-ups and the importance of safety, this course provides you with the confidence to deliver quality gymnastics sessions during curriculum time and also in an after school club environment.
Teachers' Intermediate Primary Gymnastics Course
Learn how to support participants in fun floor skills, and acrobatics and rhythmic elements. With a focus on setting up a school club, body management and the importance of safety, with the confidence to deliver quality gymnastics sessions. This course is suitable for those wanting to teach gymnastics during curriculum time and also in an after-school club environment.
Teachers' Intermediate Secondary Gymnastics Course
Learn how to support participants in the exciting floor and flight skills, and dynamic acrobatics and rhythmic elements. With a focus on partner work, body management and the importance of safety. This course will give you the confidence to deliver quality gymnastics sessions during curriculum time and also in an after-school club environment.
